Who we are

PL Matchday (plmatchday.com) is an independent, fan-built Premier League statistics website. We are not affiliated with the Premier League, any of its clubs, broadcasters, or commercial partners. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit the site, how we use it, and what choices you have.

Information we collect

We do not require you to create an account, submit a form, or provide any personal details to use this site. The only information collected is standard web analytics data gathered automatically when you load a page.

This may include: the pages you visit and how long you spend on them, the general region you are browsing from (country or city level, not your precise location), the type of device, browser, and operating system you are using, and the website or search engine that referred you to us.

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, payment information, or any other directly identifying personal data.

Cookies

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website you visit. Cookies allow websites to remember information about your visit, such as your preferences, and are widely used across the internet.

This site uses the following categories of cookies:

  • Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4) measure how visitors use the site so we can improve it. These cookies collect anonymous, aggregated data only.
  • Advertising cookies (Google AdSense) are used to serve advertisements that may be relevant to you based on your browsing history across websites. These are set by Google and its advertising partners.
  • Preference cookies remember settings you have chosen, such as light or dark display mode. These are stored locally on your device and are not sent to any server.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may limit some interactive features of this site.

Google Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site in aggregate. Google Analytics collects data such as page views, session duration, and general geographic region. This data is anonymous and cannot be used to identify you personally.

Google Analytics data is processed by Google LLC under their own privacy policy, available at policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Advertising and Google AdSense

This site is supported by advertising served through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies (including the DoubleClick DART cookie) to serve ads based on a visitor's prior visits to this site and other websites across the internet.

The use of advertising cookies allows Google to show you ads that are more likely to be relevant to you. You can opt out of personalised advertising at any time by visiting Google Ads Settings or by visiting aboutads.info. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting networkadvertising.org.

We do not control the content of advertisements shown on this site. Google's advertising policies govern what ads may be displayed. For more information on how Google uses data from sites that use its services, visit How Google uses information from sites that use our services.

Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. The only third parties that receive data about your visit are Google (for analytics and advertising) and Netlify (our hosting provider, which processes standard server logs). Both operate under their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.

Your rights (UK and EU visitors)

If you are located in the United Kingdom or European Union, you have rights under data protection law, including the right to access data held about you, the right to request deletion of that data, the right to object to processing, and the right to withdraw consent at any time where consent is the legal basis for processing.

Since we do not collect personal data directly, most of these rights apply to data held by Google on our behalf. Requests relating to Google Analytics or advertising data should be directed to Google via their Privacy Policy. For any other queries, contact us via our Contact page.

External links

This site contains links to external websites including the Premier League official site, BBC Sport, and FBref. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and recommend reviewing their individual privacy policies.

Data retention

Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months by default under our account settings. Preference cookies (such as dark mode) are stored in your browser's local storage and persist until you clear your browser data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date at the top. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
