Elland Road has been one of English football's most intimidating stadiums since the club's golden era under Don Revie in the 1960s and 70s, when the Whites regularly played in front of capacity crowds and on the European stage. Situated in Beeston, about a mile and a half south-west of Leeds city centre, the 37,890-capacity ground is dominated by the East Stand — one of the largest cantilever structures in world football when it was completed. The stadium has a passionate, vocal support and plans for long-term expansion have been mooted as the club re-establishes itself in the Premier League.
